Hello Again

It has been a while since I have blogger and a lot has happened.

This Summer:

-Worked 10 hours a week babysitting
-Celebrated my Gram's 80th birthday

-Found out I got an awesome internship at Maroon Weekly
-On the same day I found out I got accepted into the Agricultural Communications and Journalism major
-The day after summer school ended I got to go to California with my parents to visit my brother and his wife.
 - Spent a few days in Oklahoma

The new Devon Tower being built
- Got to see my sister graduate for Nursing School

Now that summer is over and the fall weather is actually making a debut in early september (hopefully to stay), school has started and I am back to being busy as ever! New post coming up next about all of my activities!

This one is for you, Dad

For the fourth I went to stay with my boyfriend's family, since my family is just a little too far away. We decided that we would go to a Peach Orchard for the day. I was so excited to be able to pick some peaches, but when we arrived they told us they stopped letting people pick a couple years ago. We ate lunch there, and then went to go look at where some berries were just picked.

There were still a few berries left, so we picked them off and ate them!

Inside the store they had all kinds of fruits and veggies, peach and strawberry ice cream, and all kinds of peach products! Dad, you would have loved it!

They also had fudge! This is the heath fudge, but the peanut butter fudge was the best!
And I got a Dublin Dr. Pepper for the ride home!
After we got back to their house, we went to the driving range and then made some kabobs for dinner. Then we headed out in search of fireworks! Since my ears can't take the sound of fireworks I went prepared with some ear protectors. I ended up not needing them because we weren't close enough. It was the perfect distance for me!!!

A perfect end to my fav holiday! And then I had to go off and start my second session of summer school...

Watermelon Races, Fireworks, and Memories

Although my ears can't take the sound of fireworks. the fourth of July is my favorite holiday. I love the whole relaxation of the day compared to other holidays. My dad never has to work, so we get to swim all day, and cook out at night. The whole day is spent with friends, and family.

10 years ago today I lost my first grandparent. My mother's dad, Papa had a stroke while driving and was in a very bad car accident. He passed away a couple of days later. I can remember that whole day. My best friends were all out of town, so I was with Corrine, a girl my age that lived down the street. We had played at her house earlier, and then headed to our neighborhood pool for the usual food and watermelon races. We were on our way back to her house to play some more when I saw my dad coming down our driveway as we passed my house. He called my name, so I came running. He told me that my mom had headed to Oklahoma to be with my grandma, because Papa had passed away. I went straight to my room and cried. I put my face in my pillow and just kept crying. I can still remember thinking that I could stay in that position three days straight. I miss my Papa so much. Since I was only 11, when he died I have so many things I wish I could ask, and do with him. I didn't know that the last time I was with him, was going to be the last time. I miss him so much, especially today. But I think that is a big reason that today is one of my favorite days. I am always reminded of the times that I had with him, and that those days were special because we were together.

I miss you so much Papa, and I can't wait to see you one day very soon. But until then, I am going to try my hardest to make you proud of the young woman I have become.

Testing 1-2-3

In my last post, my picture didn't look good on any other computer besides mine. So I am looking into the problem.

Happy Friday!

Happy friday! This weekend I am heading to Wimberley to see my family. My WHOLE family, + Hutt. He's tagging along because he knew he will miss out if he doesn't come. What can I say, my family is just fun!

Here is a picture of one the boys I babysit during the week. He is 6 and a half months old. From the expression on his face, I don't think he quite knew what was going on. Hope it makes you laugh.

Have a fantastic weekend!
